As one of the latest additions to the GCT sales team we ask Vaibhav Joshi some questions about his role and the opportunities he sees for GCT within India:
Q1. How are you settling into your new role at GCT?
GCT team has been very supportive to help me settle well here. My presence has been taken positively at all levels and I am already seeing a lot of opportunities for GCT products in my territory which has also made it easier to get into the position.
Q2. Can you give us some background on your career to date?
I have worked with several technology distribution companies in the past such as Spectra Innovations and Future Electronics. This has given me great insight with local market dynamics and channel to market for electronic components in the Indian market. I also have experience with CDE-IC who are manufacturer of Capacitors, working as National Sales Manager for India region.
Q3. What skills and experience have you brought to the GCT Americas team?
Being in the industry for over 14 years provides me with a good understanding of type of products GCT manufacture and the customers for such connector solutions. Having a technical background also helps to understand the new technology and products. My local presence will definitely help GCT to obtain a fair idea about the India region/market.
Q4. Are there any market and product trends do you see currently?
VTS is going to be big thing due to government regulations. Smart Lighting will have WI-FI or BLE modules so Board to Board connectors also has good potential.
Q5. Is there anything else you would like to add?
It’s a really exciting time to join the GCT team. I believe we are well positioned for growth with an excellent product offering, a strong distribution network, as well as a solid support staff on the direct side.
