As you will be aware, there is an ongoing outbreak of Coronavirus COVID-19 in China, centred on the city of Wuhan in Hubei Province.
The Chinese Government has locked down Wuhan and a number of other population centres in Hubei Province, with no one currently permitted to enter or leave.
We can advise that none of our production facilities are located in Hubei Province and they are therefore not directly impacted by the lockdown.
Elsewhere, measures have been implemented by the Chinese authorities to minimise the spread of CoV. These included an extension of the Chinese New Year holidays until 9th February 2020, with factories only allowed to reopen on 10th February.
All reopening factories are required to gain approval from local government which requires submission of documentation and a factory audit by health inspectors.
GCT is continuing our endeavours to seek reopening of our production facilities in Guangdong province, and although we must remain cautious, we are starting to see some progress in these efforts.
As of today, all GCT’s production facilities are open or are in receipt of required approval to reopen.
Necessary controls on movement of people and quarantining measures are continuing to impact upon the availability of personnel to operate the reopened facilities.
We expect to see the recommencement of production over the next few days.
We are also awaiting advice from our third-party suppliers regarding the timescales for availability of materials and sub-components
GCT strives to continue supporting you and will do everything possible to minimize negative impact. In the meantime, GCT will continue to pro-actively analyse all open orders to understand which order lines have the potential to be impacted.
