Product Lifecycle

GCT’s Product Lifecycle Model (PLM) ensures that all processes relating to a change in status of any product are properly managed within the scope of GCT’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

In summary:

  • Each new product undergoes full investigation, assessment and qualification prior to release.
  • The product will then remain active for its natural life or until an end-of-life event occurs.
  • If a better alternative is available the product may be downgraded to Not Recommended for New Designs (NRND).
  • At the end of its life the product will follow the structured obsolescence path, with ample notice provided to existing and potential users.

Very occasionally it is necessary to recall a product, and for non-structured obsolescence to occur. Again all users of the product will be notified.
