Today the World Health Organization has declared Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak as a Pandemic.

This declaration is expected to have the effect of releasing funding around the world to aggressively address the issues resulting from COVID-19, including those that impact upon supply-chains and logistics, and we therefore hope to see some positive impacts as a result.

The Chinese Government is continuing the lock-downs in Wuhan and a number of other population centres in Hubei Province, with no one currently permitted to enter or leave.

We can advise that none of our production facilities are located in Hubei Province and they are therefore not directly impacted by the lockdown.

Elsewhere, measures have been implemented by the Chinese authorities to minimise the spread of CoV. These have included an extension of the Chinese New Year holidays, strict quarantine and hygiene controls on the reopening of factories, and continued restrictions on rail, road, sea and air travel within China.

All GCT’s production facilities are now open.

GCT is continuing our endeavours to bring reopened production facilities back up to full production, and although this is a slow process, we have seen ongoing progress in these efforts on a daily basis.

The necessary controls on movement of people are continuing to impact upon the availability of personnel to operate the reopened facilities.

Additionally, we continue to await advice from a number of our materials and sub-components suppliers regarding the timescales for availability of these.

Finally, we have seen some delays in international customs as flow-of-goods begins to increase.

However, we are gradually moving to a position where we can provide firm delivery dates for all existing orders and new orders, although new orders will see extended lead-times, at least for the next two months.

GCT strives to continue supporting you and will do everything possible to minimize negative impact. In the meantime, GCT will continue to pro-actively analyse all open orders to understand which order lines have the potential for continued impact.
