Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation Statement

The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation ((EU) 2025/40) will go into effect on August 12th, 2026.

GCT is headquartered in the United Kingdom and is therefore a non-EU entity. This means that, where GCT is not the importer of record, GCT’s obligations under PPWR are limited to compliance with PPWR packaging design restrictions, providing PPWR-compliant packaging documentation for shipments, and compliance with PPWR labelling rules.
However, to minimise the impacts of PPWR upon our distributors and customers, GCT has elected to appoint an authorized EU representative to undertake applicable PPWR activities for GCT products that are delivered into the European Union.
This approach is intended to reduce administrative effort required by GCT’s distributors and customers, and streamline the availability of our products in EU markets.
GCT’s authorized representative will ensure that GCT is registered for PPWR in the 27 European Union countries and the following three non-EU countries: Norway, Serbia and Switzerland.
EU representation and registration with above 30 countries will be in place ahead of the August 12th PPWR effective date. GCT will also ensure that all GCT packaging is PPWR-compliant and that required PPWR documentation and labelling is in place ahead of the August 12th PPWR effective date.
GCT will also ensure that the required data gathering mechanisms are in place to ensure accurate and timely annual reporting as required under PPWR.
To ensure best use of GCT resources such that we may meet the above deadline, GCT will not be fielding enquiries from individual customers regarding PPWR.
