Tell me about card detection switch functionality?

SIM Connectors are available with or without card detection switch functionality to help identify whether a SIM card is in position.

If the SIM connector has card detect functionionality, it is either one of two switch types:

Normally Open (NO) - This means the contact configurtion is open (circuit is broken) and the circuit is closed when a SIM card is inserted Normally Closed (NC) - The circuit is closed until the SIM card is inserted

Both configuration are effective and simply depend on your application as to which option works best.
